Every mother wants her children to grow up healthy, safe, and with a future full of possibility.
For years, Mrs. Mex struggled to provide that for her family.
In her rural village outside Siem Reap, clean water wasn’t available at home. Each day, she walked long distances to a neighbor’s house to collect water for her husband and three children. The water was often dirty — leading to frequent illness, missed school, and stressful, expensive trips to the hospital.
“I worried every day,” she shared. “Sometimes we had to choose between medicine or food.”
Everything changed when Trailblazer Foundation installed a well and a bio-sand water filter right at her home.
Now, instead of walking for hours to fetch unsafe water, Mrs. Mex spends her time farming vegetables, weaving baskets for income, and supporting her children’s education. Her family is healthier, happier, and hopeful.
