    2024 Impact and Growth

    Thanks to the incredible support from our individual, business, and institutional donors, Rotary Clubs, and partners like @B1G1, @DonorSee, @GlobalGiving, @Benevity, @Myte, @MyGivingCircle and @Globalteer, along with our dedicated Trailblazer Champions, Trailblazer Foundation celebrated a remarkably successful 2024! Last year marked our 20th anniversary of helping and serving rural Cambodian families and villages. We significantly expanded our self-sustaining and community-driven initiatives, reaching 109 villages across eight districts in rural Cambodia.


    Our dedicated efforts to improve health, food security, education, and economic development are clearly resonating, with growing support for our programs. 


    Our widespread reach included:

    • Pouk district: 30 villages

    • Prasat Bakong district: 45 villages

    • Soutr Nikum district: 12 villages

    • Banteay Srey district: 10 villages

    • Angkor Chum district: 2 villages

    • Angkor Thom district: 8 villages

    • Varin district: 1 village (specifically the Lvea Krang Health Center, working with Team 5-Doctor Group)

    • Siem Reap city: 1 village


    This growing engagement demonstrates the increasing effectiveness and sustainability of our programs as we empower more communities. We're incredibly proud of what we've achieved together over the past two decades, and we're committed to keeping this momentum going for another 20 years and beyond.     The year 2024 saw exceptional performance from our Health, Food Security, Education, and Economic Development Programs, with multiple key objectives surpassed. 


    HEALTH PROGRAM:

    1. Installed 435 bio-sand water filters (BSF) (goal 303) with trainings, which could be serving as many as 6,525 people and conducted eight trainings on BSF and Hygiene Training, total participants 113 people.
    2. Drilled 155 wells (goal 60) with trainings, providing access to water to up to 2,325 villagers
    3. Built 121 latrines with sanitation and hygiene trainings, improving sanitation and safety for a minimum of 605 people and conducted two training courses on Latrines usage and Hygiene, estimated beneficiaries 37 people.

     Total Beneficiary for Health Program = 3705 people. 


    FOOD SECURITY PROGRAM:

           1. Training Course (s):

    • Conducted 09 courses (Goal 09) on “Integrated Farming System”. Total beneficiary = 130 farmers
    • Conducted 08 courses (Goal 08) on “Homestead Garden Training”. Total beneficiaries = 114 farmers
    • Conducted 10 courses (Goal 07) on “Soil Management Training”. Total beneficiaries = 110 farmers
    • Conducted 07 courses (Goal 07) on “Fertilizer & Pesticide Application Techniques”. Total beneficiaries = 88 farmers
    • Conducted 15 courses (Goal 14) on “Composting Techniques Training”. Total beneficiaries = 207
    • Conducted 02 courses (Goal 02) on “Chicken raising training and practices”. Total beneficiaries = 37 farmers

      Total training courses = 51 courses = 686 farmers

           2. Chicken farm (s):

    • Re-Established Chicken Farm I with 500 chicks in Kok Thmey village Donkev commune Pouk district. Provided the chicken feeds making machine, chicken feeds, chicken medicines, provide money to repaired the chicken house and others. Lead the chicken farmer I to visited the Chicken Farm Productions in Chansar commune to learn and get more experience from this farm.
    • Selected 1 farmer to inherited the chicken farm projects from the Chicken Farm I. 250 chicks were donated from Chicken Farm I in regards to the agreement to Kok Sramor farmer to raise and become the local chicken supplier in the future.

           3. Lvea Farmer Community Group:

    • Established Farmer Group Village Fund and Saving for FCG. The fund started with 20,000,000riels. There is a VF committee member (3 members) managing this fund and run it.
    • Funded the FCG members to add more soil on their farms, restoration their ponds for water storage in dry season
    • Provided farming equipment & tools
    • Provided nets, seeds, PH controller tools
    • Provided composting techniques training to the members
    • Helped the FCG leader to have vegetable store in Pouk market 
    • Connected the FCG farmers to the local vegetable supplier in Pouk and to vegetable suppliers in Siem Reap. 
    • Helps promoting Lvea FCG in the area.


    EDUCATION PROGRAM:

    1. Successful completed two new school buildings of 12 classrooms construction and one toilet building of four stall toilets, repaired one school gate, built 90m fences. 
    2. Delivered 25 bicycles and 60 uniforms
    3. Distributed 4,500 toothbrushes for students, teachers and their families
    4. Distributed one laptop computer, one printer, one LCD projector, one LCD screen, reading books and other school supplies to Beng Primary School. 
    5. Distributed four Desktop computers one printer, one LCD projector, school materials and supplies, teaching materials and supplies, study materials and equipment, one set of playgrounds, balls and many sport tools to Tapang Primary School.  


    ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:  

    • Follow-up 189 Village Fund refreshment trips (Goal 41) as well as the Group Savings.
    • Made five introduction trips to introduced the new villages on “Village Fund and Group Saving” in five new villages. 
    • Established four (Goal 4) “New Village Fund and Saving Group committees” in four new villages. 

    Total villages VF Actives = 59 village funds
